About Omar...

We all were created for a purpose and our God moves in mysterious ways. So to you who have known Omar over the years, those who are near and far - the making of Omar was grounded in his early Orientation and Socialization which produced the product you have all been exposed to over the years. I hope you are influenced by what contributed to the good person he has been as described by many in their own choice of words: It is all about the Goodness of God who he believed in.

Omar not only listened to and observed his mother's work as a Forensic Social Worker but he brought it to bear in the streets as he impacted positively the lives of those whom he met on a day to day basis.  Yes! he grew up in the church but he made a lot of friends in the “streets”. The community was his domain - members of whom experienced firsthand, what a giving and loving person he was. Most persons he was associated with had a story to tell about how funny, helpful and trusting this gentle giant was; he had this amazing gift of making every person he met, instantly comfortable.

                                  

Know that forgetting Omar is not a possibility; past, present and future collapsed into a series of NOWS. As we all grieve for him. I know that “Grief is not an EVENT but a PROCESS. We are also processing his departure with the knowledge that “memories don’t leave like people do” so we who have been impacted by him will live with the precious memories he has left us.  Our faith in God is still strong. This belief helped us to understand that the Lord Giveth and He Taketh and WE BLESS HIS NAME, HALLELUJAH!
